Open the window (minimap button or /altinv search) and pick the Play time tab.
- Each character's time played is shown as a bar, with its share of the total.
- Group the bars by character, class, role (from each character's current spec) or faction.
A character's time is read quietly when you log into it, so a character you haven't logged into since installing won't have a time yet.
On Classic Era there are no specs, so the role grouping isn't there.
