Privacy policy

The short version: this site has no accounts, no forms and no ads. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. That's it.

Who runs this site

ctrlshiftzed.com is a personal site run by CtrlShiftZed, an independent World of Warcraft addon developer. For any privacy question or request, email privacy@ctrlshiftzed.com.

What I collect

I don't ask you for any personal information. There is nothing to sign up for and no contact forms.

The site uses Google Analytics to understand how it's used. Google Analytics collects things like:

  • Which pages you visit and how long you stay
  • How you got here, for example from CurseForge, Twitch or a search
  • Your device type, browser, screen size and language
  • Your approximate location (country or city), worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.

I only see this as totals and trends, like "120 people viewed the Push Planner page this week". I can't see who you are.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two cookies so it can tell new visits from returning ones:

_gaTells visitors apart. Expires after 2 years.
_ga_FE498ZBL2TKeeps track of your current visit. Expires after 2 years.

No other cookies are set by this site.

Other services the site loads from

  • Google Fonts provides the site's fonts. Your browser downloads them from Google, which sees your IP address as part of that request.
  • Ko-fi hosts the "Buy me a coffee" button image.
  • My web host may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser and time of request) for security and troubleshooting.

Links to CurseForge, Twitch, GitHub and Ko-fi take you to their sites, which have their own privacy policies.

How long data is kept

Google Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months, then deleted automatically. I don't keep any separate copy.

Your choices

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works perfectly without them.
  • Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Use a browser or extension that blocks trackers.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data is held about you, or to have it deleted. Email privacy@ctrlshiftzed.com and I'll help, including passing the request to Google where needed. See also how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

The addons

This policy covers the website only. The addons run inside World of Warcraft and save their settings in your game's SavedVariables files on your own computer. They don't send anything to me.

Changes

If this policy changes, for example if ads are added later, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
